Rahab Wanjiku

Senior Officer – Drug and Substance Abuse & Education

As Senior Officer  Drug and Substance Abuse & Education, Rahab provides technical and advisory support to BoyChild Kenya’s prevention and youth empowerment initiatives, particularly those addressing drug and substance abuse. She supports grassroots networks and local coalitions to engage with strategic education, health, and child protection stakeholders at county, national, and regional levels.

Rahab also contributes to capacity strengthening, learning, and knowledge sharing among partner organisations and community actors. Her focus is on identifying and disseminating promising practices and lessons learned, with the goal of enhancing community-led solutions to addiction, dropout prevention, and mental wellbeing—especially among boys and vulnerable youth.

Rahab brings over 5 years of experience in public health, with a strong background in community nutrition, behaviour change communication, and youth development. Before joining BoyChild Kenya, she led community-based nutrition programs in informal settlements and rural areas, working to reduce child malnutrition and improve adolescent health outcomes through school-based and caregiver-led approaches.

Rahab holds a degree in Community Nutrition and is fluent in English, Kiswahili, and several local dialects. She is passionate about restoring hope and dignity to youth affected by poverty, addiction, and neglect, and ensuring no child is left behind.
