How we work
BoyChild Kenya is a national movement of individuals, youth-led initiatives, and community-based organisations working to end drug and substance abuse across Kenya. Some have come together as regional partnerships or local coalitions to address substance abuse in their counties. They are supported by a national secretariat and a Board of Trustees. BoyChild Kenya is a registered non-governmental organisation.
The power of partnership
Individual Members
We believe we are stronger together and that we can make drug and substance abuse a thing of the past. Our individual members are the heart of this movement and the force behind our shared vision.
Their personal experiences, professional knowledge, and community connections shape our strategies, programs, and advocacy efforts. They contribute to our collective mission by:
Sharing their stories, insights, and activities, helping us spotlight local efforts and connect them with others working on similar challenges, as well as with media, supporters, and learning platforms.
Contributing lessons learned and practical tools. Engage with others through our Learning & Resources and Events pages.
Participating in local and national dialogues to help co-create solutions that respond to their unique environments and lived realities.
Joining collective campaigns and mobilising their communities for awareness and change. Explore how to get involved via our Advocacy and Take Action pages.
Community Networks
These are clusters of BoyChild Kenya member organisations and local stakeholders working collectively at the grassroots level. They craft context-specific strategies to reduce substance abuse. Learn more and connect with them through our Community Coalitions page.
Youth activism
Youth are at the heart of what we do. Their insight, creativity, and leadership are vital to our collective efforts to end drug and substance abuse. We support youth-led engagement and encourage sustained activism. Explore youth-focused tools, training, and stories on our Youth Action page.
Secretariat & Board
BoyChild Kenya members are supported by a national secretariat and a Board of Trustees based across Kenya’s regions. The secretariat works hand-in-hand with members and supporters to expand knowledge, amplify awareness, and drive legislative and social reform. The Board ensures BoyChild Kenya’s organisational health and good governance.
